#WhyHIA? I was originally drawn to the organization because of its community focus on reclaiming vacant and abandoned properties for BIPOC community ownership. I have stayed at the organization because of the transformation to a deep commitment to justice and the audacity to step up and tell the truth of how we’ve gotten to this place of housing and ownership inequity today. It truly feels like we are living our mission every day to “lead the fight for housing justice”.
