Stolen Land
& Labor
We acknowledge that we live our lives and do our work on land that European colonizers stole from the Dakota peoples indigenous to Minnesota. In order for this theft to occur, sadistic acts of genocide, rape, and forced assimilation were employed.
We also acknowledge that we live our lives and do our work on land that was cultivated and developed by bodies that European colonizers stole from West African countries through the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. In order for these thefts to occur, sadistic acts of genocide, rape, and forced assimilation were employed.
We acknowledge what was taken from our collective human ancestors. As we do so, we commit to work and fight for the liberation of the descendants of those enslaved through American Chattel Slavery and the sovereignty of all Native American peoples.
